Wishin Lures

The company today known as Wishin Lures was founded in 1992.  Originally called WhiteWater Lures, the name was changed  to Wisher Lures  in 1998 due to a trademark conflict.  The name became Wishin Lures in 2000 as a result of  an ownership change.  The company was originally started with one goal in mind - to produce wood top-water baits in colors and sizes beyond what could be found in tackle shops at the time. Specifically being sought was something smaller and something larger, with some ideas for improving on construction methods being used for top-water baits in general. After turning, assembling, and field testing several dozen proto-type models, production was started on  the three models being made today - the WISHER JR., WISHER, and WISHER MAGNUM.

About a year or so later, Charlie Hanson of Wisconsin, a musky fishing veteran from the Chetek area, agreed to let the company produce and market CHARLIE'S BUCKTAIL, a unique WEEDLESS bucktail perfect for throwing into lily pads, around stumps, and through weed cover. Charlie had used his home-made version for decades (we won't say how many), and decided it was time to share the secret with the rest of the musky fishing population. It also does a super job catching big northern pike and really big largemouth bass.  This bait was given the name WISHER WEEDLESS BUCKTAIL in 1998 to coincide with the name of the wood bait line.

In the mid-1990's, well-known author, historian, and guide Larry Ramsell became associated with the company.  Larry began using the wood and bucktail lines with consistent success.  About this time, the company experimented with a spinner bait, using the same hook design as the Wisher Weedless Bucktail.  Thrown by Larry and his clients with great success, it was decided to introduce the WISHER SPINNER to the fishing public in 1998.  It is an excellent choice for trolling, and has been found deadly at trolling speeds around 5 mph.

To coincide with Larry's 2003 inductions into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and Muskies' Hall of Fame, the Ramsell
Spin was introduced.  The Ramsell Spin is still another variation on the versatile weedless bucktail design.  It features a
weighted shaft and French blade design.

Wishin Lures has also developed a line of leaders and live bait sucker rigs. Made of high quality components, the leaders include solid and hand-tied stranded wire in 9" and 12" lengths, ball bearing or crane swivels, and cross lok snaps.  New in 1998 was the jerkbait leader, featuring a proven no fail design.  The live bait rigs are available in over a dozen quick-set styles to aid in successful catch and release.

Wishin Lures is committed to producing high quality tackle at reasonable prices. Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority. Custom orders are welcome. We look forward to serving you!
