" I used to be frustrated trying to fish thick weed beds. Now that I have a good supply of Wisher "Weedless" Bucktails from Wishin Lures, those BIG hawgs can no longer hide from me in the "slop" and heavy weeds &/or wood cover"... Larry Ramsell, musky guide; writer & speaker.

Larry developed the world record’s program, as then World Records Secretary, for the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, and was a Representative of the International Game Fish Association for sixteen years. As an original member of the State of Illinois Conservation Advisory Board, Larry worked closely with then and current Chief of Fisheries, Mike Conlon. In 1982 Larry published his book; "A Compendium of Muskie Angling History," recognized internationally as a reference encyclopedia on the sport and its big fish history. It was updated, revised and reprinted in 1997. In addition, Larry and his Canadian Guide friend Bill Hamblin Co-Edited the "Musky Hunter’s Almanac" in 1996. It was widely accepted and was repeated in 1997, 1998, 1999, and the new 2000 Millennium Almanac is now available. It is intended to be an annual publication for the musky hunter. Larry was one of the early advocates of the safe-live release of muskies, and relates that the success of the release program "far exceeds any dreams or expectations."

In 1986, Larry spent the summer as a volunteer on Dr. Bernard Lebeau’s Muskie Research Team in northwestern Ontario, where his primary responsibility was the radio-tracking of huge muskies on Eagle and Wabigoon Lakes. From that work several articles resulted that has changed the complection of trophy musky fishing. Larry is currently participating in a tracking study on the Chippewa Flowage at Hayward, Wisconsin, and already in the first year of the study many interesting things are being learned about musky movement and are being passed on to musky anglers via his seminars and writings.
